The sirens in Sturgeon Bay are typically sounded on the first day of each month, but that didn’t happen on New Year’s Day. The plan now is to do the test Friday at noon. The fire department is aware that sounding the siren could cause concern in people unfamiliar with the current policy intended to insure that the sirens are in good working condition. That’s why residents and visitors are being informed about the test and the deviation from the normal schedule ahead of time.
