SBPD Investigate BB Gun Incident at City School

The Sturgeon Bay Police Department has cleared the recent report of a youth with a gun at an east side school. On June 11th, at 11AM, officers were dispatched to Sunset School to follow up on the report of a juvenile with a gun attempting to get into the school, but the doors were locked. Shortly after arriving on scene, officers saw a young male walking between houses near the school. Upon seeing the police presence, he discarded what later was discovered to be a black BB handgun. A short distance away from the area where the juvenile was seen, officers recovered a BB rifle. The youth, who was taken into custody without incident, was referred to Door County Social Services.
