Door County’s Rob Burke has been tabbed by the UW Extension to operate as its Area Extension Director, effective July 1st. Administrative Area 12 consists of Door, Kewaunee and Manitowoc Counties. The UW Extension is undergoing a reorganization process that is now beginning a transition into a new staffing model for counties that should be in place by January 2018. The selection of new area directors is one of the first visible steps taken by the UW Extension statewide in the reorganizational process. Burke will oversee the budget and overall administration of programming in the three county area. As Area Extension Director, he will also be responsible for fostering partnerships to identify new opportunities in programming, funding and staffing. Statewide, counties have been organized in 18 multi-county administrative areas. Rob Burke received his masters degree from the University of Missouri/Columbia in Community Development and has served as the Community Development Educator since 2002, as well as department head for the UW Extension in Door County.
