Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony at Eagle Tower Friday

The Friends of Peninsula State Park and the Wisconsin DNR are co-sponsoring a ribbon-cutting event Friday at the base of the new Eagle Tower in Peninsula State Park, and that starts at 10:00. Made entirely of wood and featuring the newest in wood structure technology, this new eagle tower is the only fully accessible wooden observation tower of its height in the country. Members of the public are welcome to attend the ribbon-cutting. The ceremony will begin with a brief program at the base of the tower followed by the actual ribbon-cutting. The tower will be temporarily closed to the public between 9:45 and 10:30 AM Friday to allow for the proceedings. Access to the eagle tower is free, however a park admission sticker is required. Parking is available near the tower site, and there is also access from various hiking and biking trails as well. Again, that ceremony starts at 10:00 AM Friday at the base of tower in Peninsula State Park.
