Governor Tony Evers and Sisocnsin DNR Secretary Preston Cole together have announced the administration is moving forward concerning the Potawatomi Park Tower with a request for architectural and engineering services. This announcement follows the recent public input opportunity offered by the DNR concerning the tower’s future. Gov. Evers commented, “It’s clear folks want to see a restored or reconstructed tower at Potawatomi State Park, and we also recognize that accessibility is a critical consideration for any building project, especially one as cherished as the Potawatomi Tower.” He also says the concept plans developed as a result of this request will balance the tower’s historic importance with a shared commitment to accessibility. DNR Secretary Cole said the public comments received earlier were overwhelmingly positive towards the new fully accessible Eagle Tower and that emphasized the importance of improving access to this tower.
