Review Board to Consider Tractor Supply’s Interest in Kmart Building Renovation

A proposal to renovate a portion of the former K-Mart building in Sturgeon Bay is the only item on the agenda of the city’s aesthetic design and site plan review board meeting Monday at 7PM in the city hall community room. As WDOR News reported earlier, Tractor Supply Company wants to use about 30% of the building at 1833 Egg Harbor Road for a retail outlet. The building has about 87,000 square feet of usable space. Tractor Supply, based in Tennessee, is said to be similar to a “Fleet Farm” store with everything from farm equipment and clothing to food and other commodities. The former K-Mart facility, which opened in 1987, has been closed for 14 years since it was shut down as part of a nationwide purging of stores by K-Mart during a time of decreased sales.
