The Door County Highway Department will begin a road resurfacing project on Spring Road, from Peninsula Players to Wandering Road, in the Town of Gibraltar, on Monday. The work includes pulverizing the existing pavement, improving and widening the roadway base, excavating two segments of the road to improve vision, regrading, and resurfacing with hot mix asphalt pavement, gravel shouldering, and pavement marking. Limited access to private properties will be available during the duration of the project and Spring Road will be closed to all through traffic as part of the highway excavation to improve the line of sight. A detour route will be established on Peninsula Players Road, County A and County F during the resurfacing project which is expected to be completed by June 15th. Motorists are asked to use caution around road construction crews and equipment.
