About 2,000 customers of Sturgeon Bay Utilties on the west side of the city were without electrical service for a brief period Wednesday afternoon after a static line being worked on by a crew from American Transmission Company came down at Hudson and Redwood Street and struck a three phase line, causing two circuits to shut down. The work being done by ATC is part of a project to replace a transmission line from Dyckesville to the Redwood sub-station in Sturgeon Bay. Utilities General Manager Jim Stawicki says the power outage affected customers in the Idlewild Circuit, including the Door County Justice Center. Stawicki says the power went out at around 2:30PM and was restored about 15 minutes later.
