It looks like one part of the Highway 42 project in Sister Bay will be opened up to traffic in the near future. According to the Department of Transportation, this week crews plans to complete the pavement marking, remove the traffic control and open Highway 57 and a potion of Gateway Drive to motorists prior to Friday(September 4th). Currently Highway 57 is detoured for both northbound and southbound traffic from Highway 57 to Country Walk Drive to Highway 42. The $5.8 million project, which started in July, isn’t expected to be completed until June of 2016.
