A planned public open house is set for Thursday, from 4-6PM, at the new Door County Aging and Disability Resource Center and Emergency Services building in Sturgeon Bay. What was once the Door County highway shop will soon provide space for the county emergency services central ambulance facility, as well as three multi-purpose rooms, a caregiver library and support group room, a banquet hall and kitchen with natural light, an expanded fitness room, a sweeping new lobby, a gathering space with a double-sided fireplace, and confidential professional offices for the new Door County Aging and Disability Resource Center. On Thursday, there will be staff and volunteers on site and stationed throughout the ADRC portion of the building to answer questions that may come up. In addition, WDOR’s Eddy Allen will bring his talk show to the 80-year old building for a live program beginning at 10:20AM.
