You can cross off one fireworks display from your list of 4th of July activities in 2019. The Fish Creek Civic Association has decided to forego the pyrotechnics on Independence Day, citing several reasons for the decision. According to a news release provided by the tourism organization, the decision by the board of directors was based on the struggle to find adequate volunteers and volunteer leadership, the logistics of holding a fireworks display, the fact that donations have not kept up with the expenses, the possibility of delays related to a planned road construction project, and, a lack of enthusiasm from members of the association who are busy during the holiday. Given those factors, the group has decided against having the fireworks in Fish Creek during the 4th of July in 2019.
