There will be a “changing of the guard” at Door County Medical Center Saturday as one leader is replaced by another. After more than three decades at the helm, Jerry Worrick will leave as President and Chief Executive Officer at the Sturgeon Bay medical facility, turning the position over to Brian Stephens, the current Chief Administrative Officer. Stephens brings with him an extensive background that includes 13 years at the hospital in Sturgeon Bay. In preparation for the transition, Stephens put together a curriculum that he and Worrick reviewed every two weeks for the past 18 months. He calls the promotion an honor, a privilege and a really unique opportunity. Stephens says he will do everything he can to live up to the legacy created by Jerry Worrick. As for Worrick, he expects to be just as busy during his retirement years.
