Motorcycle Club Raises Money for Honor Flight

The Door County Veterans Service Office has announced that a check for $3,100 was recently presented to the county veterans service council by members of the Devils Knights Motorcycle Club. The donation, proceeds from a poker run, is intended to help veterans and their guardians travel to Washington, DC on the old glory honor flight. Joe Heilman, President of the Door County Veterans Service Council, accepted the funding on behalf of local veterans.
Scott McFarlane, Door County Veterans Service Officer, is reminding county veterans that the Veterans Day ceremony will be held on Thursday, November 10th at Gibraltar High School in Fish Creek. The program begins at 10AM. McFarlane also notes that a trolley will travel from Sturgeon Bay to Fish Creek on November 10th for veterans who want to attend, but don’t want to drive. In addition, a ceremony will be held at the Door County Senior Center in Sturgeon Bay at 12:15PM on Friday, November 11th.
