A kayaker who left for a trip on the bay at about 8:30 Wednesday morning was eventually tracked down shortly after 6:30PM, sunburned and dehydrated. Wednesday afternoon, a relative contacted the dispatch center to report that her 23-year old son had left in an inflatable kayak, was not wearing a life jacket and was only expected to be gone for a couple of of hours, but had not returned. The Sister Bay Fire Department was contacted and a boat launched in Ellison Bay. The kayaker was spotted and towed back to a dock. He reportedly refused medical transport.
