Michigan Street Bridge Closing for Camera Upgrades

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has announced that the Michigan Street Bridge in Sturgeon Bay will be closed to vehicular traffic Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of next week, (October 1st through the 3rd), from 7AM to 3PM each day. The bridge will be open to vehicles and pedestrians outside of those times. The DOT says the closure is needed so that 13 analog cameras can be replaced with high-definition cameras on the span. The new cameras will provide bridge tenders with a higher level of detail for monitoring the bridge. Sidewalks on the bridge will be open for use. The closure will not affect marine traffic.
