The opportunity to get a street project completed ahead of schedule prompted the decision to close off a portion of Maple Street in Sturgeon Bay Wednesday. The reconstruction project will include the removal of asphalt, the replacement of water main and sanitary sewer, the installation of sewer and water laterals the removal of gutter and sidewalk and their replacement, and, the installation of a new concrete road base. If all goes well, the section of Maple Street near Glas, will be wrapped up by July 27th. Meanwhile, a detour has been set up and, during construction, the left turn arrow at the traffic signals at Maple and Madison will be turned off.
