The Sturgeon Bay Police Department, with help from law enforcement in Brown County, took a 31-year old man with addresses in Sturgeon Bay and Illinois into custody on felony charges of stalking and criminal damage to property and misdemeanor counts of battery and disorderly conduct. Police say the man was involved in several incidents this month in Sturgeon Bay. He and the victim had been in a relationship which ended. Since then, witnesses have spotted the suspect at the victim’s residence and at locations where she was, even when told to have no contact with her. On July 3rd, the man texted a picture of the grave site of the woman’s husband, asking her to meet him there. On July 7th, he spray painted her vehicle causing about $7,000 dollars damage. Later that day, he showed up at a Sturgeon Bay business, surprising the woman and family-members. During the confrontation, the man slammed a glass door into the head and arm of a family member. The suspect fled prior to police arrival, but was arrested in Brown County. His case has been referred to the district attorney’s office.
