Kewaunee Man Dies in High Speed Accident

A 21 year old Kewaunee man is dead, after a high speed chase through the city of Kewaunee Sunday night. Just after 11PM an officer of the City of Kewaunee Police Department observed a vehicle entering the city on Highway 29 in excess of 100 miles per hour. The officer attempted to pursue the vehicle as it headed down First Street to Hospital Road, but the high rate of speed made pursuit difficult. As the officer followed the path of the fleeing vehicle he came upon the scene of a one vehicle roll-over accident on Hospital Road near the intersection with Adams Road. It was quickly determined that it was the same vehicle he was pursuing. Evidence from the scene indicates that the vehicle left the roadway and rolled multiple times. The driver was the only occupant and was pronounced dead at the scene, he was wearing a seatbelt. The accident remains under investigation by the City of Kewaunee Police Department, Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department, and the Wisconsin State Patrol.

Authorities have identified the driver as 21 year old Noah Gum of Kewaunee.
