The Door County District Attorney’s office is in possession of a file developed as part of an investigation into possible fraudulent activity at a church in Sturgeon Bay. The city police became involved when it received information from the church that upwards of $11,000 was missing. The allegations are that several checks were cashed and credit cards were used without permission. In addition, there’s evidence that cash was taken. The investigation, which began in mid-November, reportedly has a suspect in mind. The DA’s office has indicated that it is in the process of going through police materials and could take action before the week is out.
