Industrial Park Expansion Approved

The Sturgeon Bay City Council Tuesday endorsed expansion plans proposed by Therma-Tron-X at the city’s industrial park by approving the sale of property to the local firm. In May, Roger Kinnard, Therma-Tron-X Vice-President for Finance, indicated that the additional three acres of land are required as part of the effort to meet the company’s office and manufacturing needs. Kinnard noted that a 10,000 square foot office expansion and renovation project is being completed at an estimated cost of $900,000. The expansion will accommodate the 20 full-time employees hired this year. The planned 24,000 square foot south plant addition comes with an estimated cost of $1.8 million for manufacturing purposes. The new construction is expected to lead to the creation of an additional 20 to 25 full-time jobs.
