The $5.8 million dollar road project in Sister Bay continues this week. The plan calls for reconstruction of a portion of Highway 42 and 57 including traffic and erosion control, signing, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, curb and gutter, sidewalks, lighting, concrete and asphalt pavement, and, landscaping. Last week, crews set up the traffic detour on Highway 57 and traffic control for stage one reconstruction of 57 and Gateway Drive. Workers also started rock blasting for installation of new sanitary sewer, storm sewer and water main pipe, as well as planning for the realignment of gateway drive. In addition, crews began the process of cleaning and grubbing trees in the Gateway Drive realignment area. This week, rock blasting will continue, along with planning for the installation of sanitary and storm sewer and water main pipe for Highway 57 and Gateway Drive. Currently, Highway 57 is detoured to Country Walk Drive and Highway 42. The detour will be in place through September 3rd. The entire Sister Bay road project is expected to be completed in June of 2016.
