The Door County Highway Department will be making repairs on a large sunken area on Highway 42 at the base of the Fish Creek hill Monday. Detours and flag personnel will be in place. Traffic heading north on Highway 42 will be detoured east on Peninsula Players Road and then north on Spring Road to Fish Creek. Southbound traffic will still be able to head south up the hill to leave the village. Depending on what is uncovered, the Department of Transportation will determine what needs to be done and how long the project will take. In the short term, alternate routes to the northern end of Door County are recommended.
