After parts of two years, the Highway 42 road reconstruction project in Sister Bay is all but completed. The Department of Transportation in Green Bay says the busy stretch of highway, closed this year since April, will open to two-way traffic at the end of the day Friday. The project began July 6th, 2015 and is scheduled for completion by the end of the month. Minor landscaping and finishing work remains, but it will not impact traffic. The $5.8 million project involved the reconstruction of nearly a mile of Highway 42 and 57 in Sister Bay. The work includes traffic and erosion control, signing, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, curb and gutter, sidewalks, lighting, concrete and asphalt pavement, and landscaping.
