At this time, the three roadwork projects along Highway 42 in northern Door County are now complete. For the stretch from Sturgeon Bay north to Egg Harbor, this $6.7 million project is now mostly completed with only minor punchlist items remaining, but this work will not affect traffic.
Within the Village of Egg Harbor, that work is also now complete. Crews are still doing some finishing touches with planting of trees and other landscaping, but this will also have no effect on traffic.
For the stretch from the north end of Egg Harbor to Fish Creek, that $2.4 million project was completed last week.
All detours associated with these roadwork projects are now done, and the entire stretch of Highway 42 is fully open just in time for the heavy traffic Door County will see in the next few months.
