After a week shortened by the 4th of July holiday, work resumes Monday on the Highway 42 resurfacing project from County X to the intersection with Highway 42/57 in southern Door County. According to the Department of Transportation, the contractor plans include continued mainline paving, milling at the southern end of the project, and, the beginning of storm sewer repair work which is expected to continue through the week. The 7.8 mile stretch of Highway 42 remains open to traffic with the use of flaggers.
Meanwhile, the Highway 42 project, from Gibraltar Road to Country Walk Drive, in northern Door County, is on hold due to the peak tourism season. There will be no traffic impacts until work begins again in September.
