Go Bo Foundation Paying it Forward

A check for $25,000 was presented to the MACC Fund in Milwaukee earlier this week by Annika Johnson and her brother, Rolf, on behalf of the Go Bo Foundation. The donation is the first installment of a $75,000 commitment by the Door County Organization toward cancer research supported by the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer. The Go Bo Foundation contribution will help fund a research program aimed at understanding leukemia biology with the goal of finding new ways to treat these very intransigent cancers. Bo Johnson was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia at the age of 12. He died in September of 2012, but his battle with the deadly disease was an inspiration to all. Paying it forward was his dream. With that in mind, the Go Bo Foundation brings hope to children with life-threatening conditions by funding research, supporting treatment, and, helping families during times of financial need.
