The new library and community center project in Egg Harbor is nearing its fundraising goal. The campaign leadership team for the Donald and Carol Kress Pavilion says a one million dollar challenge from Donald and Carol Kress was accepted by the Egg Harbor Village Board on November 7th. At the same time, an anonymous donor has come forward and pledged an additional one million dollars, bringing the total funds raised to five million dollars. As things stand now, ground-breaking for the new facility is set for 2017. With that in mind, the leadership team is asking for help from the community in order to complete the project next year. A final one million dollars is needed. The Kress Pavilion not only offers a state of the art library and business center, it also features an upper level event space for meetings, conferences, library activities, children’s programs, movie night, card clubs and family and business gatherings. The facility will also have a kitchen in the upper level which would be used by library children and for adult activities and potential cooking classes.
