A new roof is needed for the Death’s Door Maritime Museum in Gills Rock, so a fundraising effort is now under way. The time-sensitive project is needed to ensure that the historical maritime artifacts housed in the facility aren’t damaged and can be on display for generations to come. The estimated cost has been pegged at $67,000. The combination of years of severe winter weather and the record-breaking blizzard in April took a toll on the roof of the repository of maritime history.
