Fishing Tug Partially Sunk at Marina in Sturgeon Bay

tugThe owner of a boat that sank near the dock at Madelyn Marina, across from the Lodge at Leathem Smith in Sturgeon Bay is working on a plan to re-float the vessel. The Department of Natural Resources was called in earlier this week after the boat, referred to as a fishing tug went down, leaving only its upper structure above water. The vessel had been reported sitting low in the water prior to its sinking. The DNR says no fuel appears to have leaked from the submerged boat and the focus is on getting it re-floated as quickly as possible. The owner has apparently been working on the vessel, which has been located at its current location on the end of the pier, for some time.
