The Farm Market Kitchen in Algoma will be closing, effective August 31st. The decision to close the shared-use food processing business incubator was announced Thursday as the Living Lakes Heritage board of directors recently voted to dissolve the organization. The Farm Market Kitchen was the main project of the organization, economic factors were cited for the dissolution of Living Lakes Heritage. The Farm Market Kitchen helped more than 200 small businesses and educated thousands of people on the importance of local food, entrepreneurship, agriculture and economic development. Relocation assistance will be provided to for groups that have reserved the facility for upcoming parties and events, and, a smooth and supportive transition to other facilities will be sought for current food processing entrepreneurs.
