Recent washouts in the entrance road to Ellison Bluff County Park in Ellison Bay has led to its temporary closure. The Door County Facilities and Parks Department says the closure will be in place while the appropriate roadway repairs can be made. The park itself remains open to visitors, but access into the park will be limited to foot traffic. The facilities and parks department is working with the county highway department to coordinate and complete the repairs needed to make the roadway passable again as soon as possible. Parks Superintendent Ben Nelson says the safety of visitors to the park is the top priority. He says repairs at the northern Door County park is a high priority. Nelson says, unfortunately, the high level of rain recently has led some rough travel conditions on the entrance road.
