Eagle Tower Rebuild Approved by State Building Commission

A $2.07 million dollar project to rebuild the Eagle Tower at Peninsula State Park near Fish Creek was approved Wednesday by the State Building Commission. Missy Vanlanduyt of the DNR office of communications says the new tower will look similar to its predecessor…

Vanlanduyt says the project will also include parking and repaving, interpretive displays, benches, and, connections to existing trails. She says public input played a key role in the tower’s design…

The State Natural Resources Board will have the final say on the project in September. If approved the department plans to proceed with the design and hopes to begin construction in December pending bid results and weather, with an estimated completion date of late summer 2019.
