Duluth Avenue Project Progressing

Sturgeon Bay City Engineer Chad Shechik has provided an update on the Duluth Avenue street project. Shefchik says this week the contractor will be starting the storm sewer improvements at west Maple Street. Therefore, the intersection of west Maple and Duluth Avenue will be closed to all traffic. While the Maple Street intersection is closed, the west Oak Street intersection will remain open to local traffic for people needing to get to areas on the west side of Duluth Avenue. The closure of the west Maple Street intersection is estimated to last approximately one week. Shefchik also warns against tampering with wood stakes installed in the construction zone. He says tampering with the stakes could result in improper installations and cause costly delays. If you believe one of the stakes has been moved, contact Chad Shefchik at 1-920-493-1039 so that it can be checked for accuracy.
