Drunken Driver Causes Power Outage After Striking Power Pole

A one-car crash Monday evening on Highway 42, near Beach Road, in the Town of Liberty Grove, left a 68-year old Ellison Bay man injured. According to the accident report, the was vehicle traveling north on Highway 42 when the driver drove off the road and struck a utility pole, breaking it off around 7:30PM. The accident caused a power outage that affected more than 800 customers of Wisconsin Public Service Corporation for several hours. Most of the homes and businesses affected were located in the Sister Bay area. The northern Door County man was cited for a fourth offense of drunken driving.
