Door-Tran Succeeds Through Community Partnerships

Door-Tran, Door County’s transportation consortium, has been one of the area’s great success stories over the past nine years. The program, which was the outgrowth of the work of a steering committee organized by the United Way in 2006, has expanded to provide continued coordination of several transportation oriented services. Door-Tran, which is headquartered in Sturgeon Bay, does not own a fleet of vehicles. Mobility Manager Pam Busch says that’s where partnerships come in…


Busch says the veteran’s transportation program is a good example of successfully using shared resources. She notes that the vet’s program was dropped by the Red Cross in February of 2011, but continues today, in part, because of a vehicle primarily used by the Door County Senior Resource Center…
