Door County Public Health Department Awarded Grant

The Door County Public Health Department has been awarded a $50,000 grant intended to enhance the growth and development of children by way of the Door County Community Health Plan. The funding, provided by the University of Wisconsin/Madison school of medicine and public health, will be spread over a two year period with the goal of improving children’s social and emotional health and readiness for school. The Door County Board of Health has voted to accept the grant funding and the county board is expected to follow suit Tuesday. The starting date for the county public health department program is August 1st.
