Door County Men Swept into Lake Michigan in Sheboygan

Two of three people swept into the waters of Lake Michigan from Sheboygan’s south pier Sunday afternoon reportedly have ties to Door County. One of the group was listed as missing as of Sunday evening. All three are said to be in their 20’s. The US Coast Guard is saying sudden high winds and waves swept the three individuals off the pier. One local resident, Dylan Abeyta, was rescued and transported to the Sheboygan hospital. The search for the missing Door County man and another man resumed today. A third Sturgeon Bay resident, Jeremy Wheat, was behind the other two and was not swept into the water. The Coast Guard says a total of ten people found themselves in the waters across the Lake Michigan shore Sunday.
