The Door County Brewing Company, based in Baileys Harbor, has announced the hiring of Peter Kerwin as its Chief Financial Officer and Director of Operations. Kerwin brings more than 30 years of executive financial and operations management to the brewery founded in 2012 by John McMahon. According to a news release, Kerwin’s hiring is part of an effort to meet demand and a market expansion timetable. The brewing company’s expansion plans call for a new 15,000 square foot brewery capable of producing 20,000 barrels of beer annually. The project is expected to kick off in September of 2016. A licensed CPA and a graduate of Notre Dame University, Kerwin has worked with Eggers Industries, the Manitowoc Company and, most recently, was CFO at Marine Travelift in Sturgeon Bay. He has been active in community organizations in Door County and was named the United Way Volunteer of the Year in 2012.
