A dive team has been working on a submerged vehicle in about 16 feet of water inside the Northport Harbor at the tip of the Door Peninsula Friday morning. The vehicle was discovered at about 2:30 Thursday afternoon by a crew from the Washington Island Ferry Line. A period of warm weather and calm conditions took care of ice in the harbor and revealed the vehicle. Concerned that the vehicle could be a danger to navigation, the ferry line contacted the Door County Sheriff’s Department which was on the scene Thursday. It has been speculated that the vehicle could be that of an 87-year old Illinois man who was last seen in Door County in mid-November.
