Disagreement Continues Over Direction of West Side Waterfront Development

Prior to the vote on the grain elevator donation and move, several speakers asked the Sturgeon Bay City Council to give an ad hoc study committee time to gather public input on the best uses for the waterfront parcels on the city’s west side. One of them was James Schuessler, Executive Director of the Door County Economic Development Corporation…

That statement, and others like it, prompted First District Alderperson Kelly Catarozoli to blast the ad hoc waterfront committee, the Door County Maritime Museum and others for not sharing her point of view…

Earlier, Catarozoli made unsubstantiated claims that Mayor Thad Birmingham had orchestrated the selection of speakers who addressed the council during the public comment portion of the meeting, a claim the mayor vehemently denied.
