Dietman Sworn in as New Sturgeon Bay Fire Chief

Marking a large-scale changing of the guard at the Sturgeon Bay Fire Department, a special swearing-in ceremony was held at city hall Monday afternoon for department members who will be taking on new assignments. Mayor Thad Birmingham administered the oath of office for new Fire Chief Tim Dietman, noting his 15 years as a firefighter and his community activities. Also taking the oath of office were new Lieutenant Matt Austad and Ethan Jorns, who was elevated to full-time firefighter status. Austad, following in the footsteps of his father, has been a department-member since July of 2002. Jorns became a part-time firefighter in May of 2012.
