DDC New Organizational Model

Destination Door County is the newer name for the area’s largest and longest running tourism promotion organization. In a recent conversation with Destination Door County Director of Advocacy Phil Berndt, he shared with us a big new change for the organization. First he discussed how it began and functioned until recently……….

Berndt says that now with the introduction of a room tax as a funding mechanism in our area, they will now follow the example of other destination organizations with a change in their funding model, and there will no longer be membership dues collected………

Members who are interested in additional marketing or advertising in the destination guide can still do so for a fee, but free membership will include your listing on the website as well as free placement of your business brochure in the welcome center. As Berndt says, they have been working towards this change for a while now……

Any Door County business can now sign up through the DDC website, “DoorCounty.com”. Just click on “partnership” at the top, and then members of their staff will be able to answer any questions you may have. Remember, any current members of Destination Door County will not be receiving an invoice for dues this year, and this change is permanent.
