The annual investors meeting for the Door County Economic Development Corporation was held Thursday, and four business awards were presented to local entrepreneurs.
Brad Andreae of Therma-Tron-X was given the distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award. He is only the 3rd business owner to receive this award since 1978, joining the ranks of Ellsworth Peterson of Peterson Builders, and Fran Shefchik of Portside Builders.
The Light Keeper Award, for best women and minority owned business of the year went to the Door County Candle Company owners Christiana Gorchynsky Trapani and Nic Trapani.
Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding won the award for Established Business of the Year, and the Range Lights Award for best new business of the year went to Sister Bay’s Peach Barn Farmhouse and Brewery.
Door County Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Michelle Lawrie said the accomplishments of the award winners are the perfect testimonial to show how individuals, families, and businesses can thrive in Door County and also contribute to the community. At the meeting there were were also presentations by DCEDC Board Chairman Brian Stephens, and keynote speaker Mike Ward, Vice-President of Business and Community Development for the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation.
