Door County Public Health have recently informed us of their current status with the COVID-19 vaccinations. They say that they have received notice from the state that they will only receive about 30% of their requested vaccine allotment for this week’s scheduled vaccine clinics on Thursday and Friday. They remind everyone that they are dependent on the state’s ability to receive and distribute vaccines to all Wisconsin counties. Door County Public Health can only order one week in advance and receive confirmation just days ahead of their scheduled clinics. Their demand has greatly exceeded their supply for this week, and not everyone scheduled will be able to get vaccinated this week. Those with cancellations will receive an email informing them of the wait-listing of their appointments. You will be contacted for rescheduling when they have more appointment slots available. They say if you are able to get your vaccination at a different location, please feel free to do so and let them know so they can remove you from the wait list. Door County Public Health is very sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment this creates. Unfortunately, this is not the first or last time such adjustments will have to be made. They remind everyone that nothing of this magnitude has ever been rolled out before.
