WDOR News has learned that members of the Sturgeon Bay City Council will select a candidate to replace Ed Ireland as 3rd District Alderman at their July 19th meeting. Five people have expressed interest in the aldermanic seat that was recently vacated after health issues forced Ireland to retire ten months before the end of his term. Martha Beller, Laurel Hauser, Barry Mellen, Richard Stuewer, and David Ward have indicated they’d like to represent the 3rd district on the council. The person selected will serve out the remainder of Ireland’s term which ends in April of next year.
