The Door County Community Foundation announced Thursday that it had purchased the former Baylake Bank Conference Center and clock tower property from Nicolet National Bank. The Community Foundation will move its offices into roughly half the building and set up the remainder as a gathering and meeting space for other charities and community groups. The clock tower and surrounding grassy area was also part of the purchase.
The Community Foundation is also announcing that it is committed to hosting the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony, partnering with Sturgeon Bay Utilities, to do so. The organization is also working with the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center and other community groups to come up with ideas for using the clock tower green space.
