Committee Approves Monday Granary Move

The Sturgeon Bay Finance/Purchasing and Building Committee has signed off on two aspects related to the proposed move of the old grain elevator back to a spot near its old location on the city’s west side waterfront. During a meeting Thursday morning, the three-person committee voted unanimously to accept a site plan and verification that the more than 100-year old structure was stable enough to cross the Maple/Oregon Street Bridge Monday. The committee had tabled action on the matter during its previous meeting. The three members of the Sturgeon Bay Finance/Purchasing and Building Committee are Helen Bacon, Dan Williams and Seth Wiederanders. Bacon is chair-person.
