Governor Tony Evers and the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority announced Wednesday the recipients in their latest round of funding through 3 state programs: Vacancy-to-Vitality, Infrastructure Access, and Restore Main Street.
Sturgeon Bay’s Cherry Lanes applied for, and will now receive, $160,000 in funding through the “Restore Main Street” program which is designed to rehabilitate housing on the 2nd or 3rd floors of an existing building with commercial space on the ground level. This funding is intended to help Cherry Lanes rehabilitate or create 8 affordable workforce housing units. The estimated total cost for their project is $645,300.
In this round of WHEDA affordable housing project loans, over $9.3 million is being invested to support nine different projects statewide, those projects creating a total of 485 newly available housing units.
