Centerline Community Forum Offers Trip to Eau Claire

An initiative intended to offer the Sturgeon Bay and Door County community access to local, regional and national speakers on topics related to strengthening community, encouraging civic engagement, and, formulating a vision for smart growth is planning its first event in that regard. The group has announced that it plans a bus trip to Eau Claire in April to tour that city’s Phoenix Park, a redevelopment project that includes a six acre park and a former brownfield site in the vicinity of the Chippewa and Eau Claire Rivers. The park offers a year-round farmers market, a natural amphitheater, a walking path, and is owned by the City of Eau Claire. “Centerline” is partnering with the Door County Economic Development Corporation and is being directed by Kelly Avenson, Charolette Bairl and Laurel Hauser. Sturgeon Bay artists Jeremy Popelka and Stephanie Trenchard are credited with developing the group’s name and logo.
The deadline to sign up for the trip to Eau Claire on April 24th is April 17th. The cost is $20 per person. More details are available at www.centerlineforum.org or by calling 495-7239.
