Dan Burke, who has been the face of the Door County Land Trust for two decades, has announced that he will be stepping down as Executive Director in order to be closer to family in Colorado. His resignation is effective on February 19th. The Door County Land Trust is a local, non-profit organization working to protect Door County’s exceptional lands and waters forever. It has placed upwards of 7,000 acres under its protective umbrella and is supported by more than 2,500 members. Under Burke’s tenure, the local land trust has added dozens of properties to the protected list, including the Grand View Scenic Overlook, the Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal, Three Springs, the Bay Shore Blufflands, Kangaroo Lake, and, Chambers Island nature preserves.
